SABWA Incubator Programme-Closing date extended

South African Business Women in Arts (SABWA) is our non-profit making organisation whose aim is to be a catalyst for social and economic emancipation for other women within the Arts industry.
Our objectives include promoting arts innovation and entrepreneurship in women artists, career development in the creative arts and to establish and maintain lines of communication among professional women in the arts, all whilst raising the overall standard of excellence within our industry. Founding members and board members include Ms Tebogo Kgobokoe, Ms Sibongile Khumalo, Dr Bongi Dhlomo, Ms Nothando Migogo with our patrons including Ms Angie Makwetla, Ms Adrienne Sichel and Ms Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

SABWA is launching a pilot Business Savvy Incubator Programme, in partnership with CATHSSETA in February which will see participants gain a qualification (FeTC in Management) and obtain the necessary skills to navigate, negotiate and conduct themselves in the business world.

IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT ALTHOUGH THE SABWA MEMBERSHIP IS OPEN TO ALL WOMEN ARTISTS OF ALL AGES, THE INCUBATOR PROGRAMME IS ONLY OPEN TO FEMALE ARTISTS MEETING THE FOLLOWING SELECTION CRITERIA:
• • Women(including women with disabilities)
• • Must be 23 years and older
• • Must have been an Arts Practitioner for 5years and or more
• • Must be operating a business or trading as a business
• • Must be willing to commit to the BSI programme fully
• • Must be able to pay the commitment fees for attending the BSI (R700-00)
• • Must be able to attend all lectures for the full duration of the programme (4 months)
• • Must be have the drive and ambition to want to operate a successful business
Other Info:

- The SABWA membership registration is R300
- Registration for the Incubator Savvy Programme is R700.00 please send CV and 1 page essay (via email) on your reasons to be part of this Programme
- A person can apply for either or both (membership & Incubator Savvy Prog)
- The forms are available in the SABWA facebook page and on request via our email.

We are still taking final applications for the programme with our cut of time being the 9th of February at 3pm.
