The Platinum Fashion Festival Reviews

“As a Gauteng resident travelling to Klerksdorp, North West I found a very well organised event, welcoming hosts and people.  I immediately felt part of the NWSD fashion community.  I believe the Platinum Fashion Festival is a great platform for students to showcase real fashion to fantastic people.  I found that each student gets nurtured in their design style by optimising their talents.  Not all will be noted designers but they will all have the aesthetics, that is why they should stay true to their own design personalities.”
Suzaan Heyns – noted fashion SA designer

"A platinum fashion show was held in Klerksdorp . The fashion show was an immaculate event that made everyone present feel like Paris had been flown all the way down to South Africa at Klerksdorp. It was a sensational show that displayed the professional modeling, art styles and marvelous designs that people had put together. Not forgetting the organizers who made the whole show an unforgettable paradise experience. I, “Mercia Matlhaku Ramagaga” was invited on behalf of the PACC (Provincial Arts & Culture Council) as the moderator of the auspicious event.

Everything and everyone were at par level of professionalism and looking beautiful of course. The first year students’ show was called “The Installation” and the standard of their hats and garments was a Durban-July fitting. The second years’ also out did themselves by showing out with some flawless beautiful garments too. As for the third years’ buyers collections were garments that are currently trading and it was absolutely on point.

Media also had a huge role at the fashion show with their photo shoots, red carpet and top class stages. Their work was just great and professional as well and definitely everyone couldn’t wait to see the show on television since was being being broadcasted and also get the DVDs and pictures.

Top fashion icons/celebrities like Gert Johan Coetzee and a few more others were present at the show, and Gert himself gave out a bursary to show his love of fashion and appreciation of talent that all had witnessed at the event.
In conclusion, the show was very successful and worth attending since it was indeed an unforgettable event in Klerksdorp. More so, we hope to have more of such events in the future to promote the talent that our youngsters have to show." - Mercia Matlhaku Ramagaga
