ABOUT US
The huge success of the 2014 Platinum Fashion Festival and the lack of a proper Design Fair and Food Expo in
the North West Province, contributed to the fact that the steering committee decided to host the 2015
Platinum Fashion Festival over two days and will include the following:

• NWSD 3rd year's Buyers Collections
• Centurion Academy Hair Show
• a Networking Area
• VIP lounge
• Red carpet photo spot
• Supervised Children’s fashion crafting area
• Gert-Johan Coetzee Bursary
• Brutal Fruit Fashion Talk
Partnerships with the North West School of Design, Makgone Management, North West Newspaper Group
(Klerksdorp Record), The Round Table 16, Centurion Academy (Klerksdorp Campus), Gert-Johan Coetzee,
Brutal Fruit are already secured and television coverage of this prestigious event will be managed by Fashion
District TV and aired on channel 451 EKTV, OpenviewHD.
ABOUT THE DESIGN FAIR AND FOOD EXPO
The Platinum Fashion Festival creates a unique opportunity and platform for talented local designers and
entrepreneurs to exhibit and sell their hand made and custom designed products. Celebrities, Fashion Industry
leaders, Experts and Fashion enthusiasts from all over South Africa will attend this prestigious event.
The Design Fair and Food Expo will not be your typical “Flea market” event and potential exhibitors will be
curated by the steering committee. Your typical “China town” products will not be allowed and priority will be
given to local and trendy hand-made products.
The Expo area will be within a Marquee tent to ensure safety against nature’s elements. The standard
exhibition stall size is 3m x 3m and a steel frame covered in fabric will ensure a demarcated area for each stall.
Access to these tents will be controlled via two entrances. There will be a centralized Point of Sale system with
credit and debit card facilities that will be manned by trained staff.
Security Staff will ensure that your products are safely guarded once the tents are locked in the evenings.
WHAT WILL A STALL COST ME?
Stall Space Rental:
A standard Stall is 3m by 3m and will cost R650 per day. This totals to R1300 for the two days. Exhibition stalls
are under obligation to be taken for both days without exception. A non-refundable deposit of R300 is payable
to secure your stall upon approval of your application. The R1300 exhibition fee needs to be paid before or on
the 30th of October 2015.
If Electrical outlets at stalls are required, it should be indicated on your application form and the once off nonrefundable
fee of R350 must be paid before or on the 30th of October 2015.
Two or Three stalls can be merged should you require a bigger stall. All costs will remain the same and bigger
stalls needs to be arranged at least two weeks before the event.
Percentage of Sales:
A standard 10% markup will be added to your product price to cover Point of Sale Labels, shopper bags, Staff
wages, Card Facility rental and transaction costs, etc.
WHAT IF I CAN’T BE AT THE EXPO TO SELL MY PRODUCTS?
Stall Setup fee of R500 is applicable to ensure that your products are well presented, merchandised, priced
and ready for serious sales.
You are welcome to send your products, stock sheets and stall props and we will be happy to arrange a
student from NWSD to “man” your stall for an additional fee of R300 per day.
If you are interested in this service, it should be listed on your application form and arranged at least two
weeks prior to the event.
BEFORE AND AFTER THE EXPO
Exhibitors Manual:
An Exhibitors Manual will be given to curated vendors upon approval of their application. This document will
detail the procedures, timeframes, rules and regulations as well as terms and conditions as stipulated by the
Platinum Fashion Festival’s steering committee.
Product Stocksheets:
A complete product stocksheet MUST be submitted of all the products to be exhibited and sold at the expo no
later than 12:00pm on Friday the 30th of October 2015. Sample Stocksheets will be supplied to curated
vendors. These stocksheets will be used to produce product price tag labels for the Point of Sale system.
Penalty fee of R350 will be charged for late submissions and NO stocksheets will be accepted from the 5th of
November 2015. NO products will be sold or allowed to enter the exhibition area not listed on the
Stocksheets.
Project Build-up and Break-down:
Build-up will be:
• Thursday the 5th of November 2015 from 12:00pm to 8:00pm (Stand Setup & Styling)
• Friday the 6th of November 2015 from 06:00am to 9:00am (Product Pricing)
Break-Down will be:
• Saturday the 7th of November 2015 from 8:00pm to 10:00pm
• Sunday the 8th of November from 6:00am to 11:00am
NO BREAK-UP WILL BE ALLOWED BEFORE SATURDAY, 7 NOVEMBER 2015 AT 8:00PM
