2015 Model Casting - Behind the scenes

The 15th of August 2015 saw NWSD hosting their annual Model Castings for the Platinum Fashion Festival this day was a huge success!

Prospective models showed up with a drive and passion and auditioned for a part in NWSD's Biggest Fashion Event Ever!

The Morning started off with a pre registrations and the went into a briefing session before the models got a chance to strut their stuff for our judges.

All successful models will receive a PFF training DVD, explaining the standards and trends of the latest international model posture and runway styles and specifications.

Every day is open day at NWSD! Yes, you can visit us anytime during the year, especially when classes are in full swing as we believe that this is when you learn best about how we do things around here.

The Platinum Fashion Festival also serves as #NWSD's Open day as you get to see the true scope of the work created at NWSD

The second years have been hard at work designing a little spice dress, what this entails is creating a dress using a technical fabric created by the students themselves!

NWSD GOES DIGITAL

North West School of Design – Digital Advertising Fashion Show

Promoting Local Brands – through fashion – on a global stage.

For the last 16 years, NWSD fashion students have showcased their traditional Advertising Fashion shows in Malls and Shopping Centres showcasing Avant Garde looks created by students who designed, made and modeled fantasy garments using branding and packaging material of the participating tenants in these Malls.

From 2014, Principal Marlene Oosthuizen decided to spice things up a little and to showcase these designs to a larger audience – a digital audience.
