15 Shades of style

The Platinum Fashion Festival is the brainchild of NWSD and an official North West school of Design event.

The Platinum Fashion Festival is incorporated with our 15th year celebration.
The event provides students with the platform to showcase their design and skills to the fashion industry, media, public and family.

The Platinum Fashion Festival will accommodate 3 shows, a VIP Lounge, Networking area, Red Carpet photo spot, Round Table Cash Bar and a Food Kiosk.

Theme - 15 Shades of Style

Celebrating the love of Fashion

North West School of Design has been around for 15 YEARS.
We took this symbol of achievement into consideration and searched for the latest event details and themes, then added that to the general atmosphere of the different prominent fashion shows around the world.

And you thought the fifty SHADES OF Grey thing is over... well, not yet, the dark romantic, passionate and flaboyant theme allows us to move from the traditional show to a fashion festival, this suits the occasion

We choose style because fashion fades but  STYLE is eternal, style is a distinctive form of quality, a manner of expression that can be applied to fashion.

Window Dressing Course (Visual Merchandising)

According to Wikipedia Visual merchandising is the activity and profession of developing the floor plans and three-dimensional displays in order to maximize sales.

Visual Merchandising can:

-          - Improve Business’ productivity
-          - Boost sales per square foot
-          - Generate a faster turnover rate
-          - Sell more of most profitable merchandise
-          - Decrease markdown rates
-          - Increase the amount of average transaction
-          - Convert the shopper a “stopper” and a walk-in rather than a walk-by

s    The NWSD Window Dressing Course will be presented by Eloise Booysen who studied interior design from 2003 -2005 at Tina Scholtz Academy in Potchefstroom. Being totally inspired by fabrics and always having a passion for fashion, Eloise then studied a BA Fashion Design in Pretoria at The Design School Southern Africa from 2006 -2008. Always the innovator Eloise then with her design knowledge completed a few short courses in auto-cad with the vision of incorporating interior design with the work of an architect. This plan quickly changed into her own business Venture, "Ella interior & design", an interior design business that opened in July 2009. To broaden her horizons further, Eloise, completed numerous North West School of Design short courses like upholstery, visual merchandising & window dressing. Eloise is still very involved in the industry of fashion and interior design, but works full time in the motor industry helping to grow their family business.

Eloise believes that each window display tells it's own story, you stop, stare and think.
You have to be extraordinary to be irreplaceable.
